Although we use makeup brushes almost every day, we can't say the same about how often we clean them. Surely you already sensed this, but… giving it a wash from time to time is not enough.

Every time we use a brush on our face, they collect oil, dead cells and bacteria that accumulate on our skin. The truth is that cleaning brushes is a simple task for which you will not need many materials, with water and an appropriate soap you will be prepared to keep your tools sanitized.

What soap to use to clean brushes?

We can use any soap that is natural, regular soaps can dry out the bristles, especially if they are made from natural hair. It is advisable to use one that contains tea tree since it is a natural antiseptic, antiviral and fungicide that works wonders.

Another option can also be to add a few drops of tea tree oil while cleaning.

Once we have the materials ready, we start with the cleaning:

Never let your brushes dry on a towel as the bristles can get moldy and you shouldn't blow them with a dryer either.

Depending on the cold or humidity of the environment, it may take 1 to 3 days to dry well.

When storing brushes, it is advisable to protect them from environmental dust. You can store them in a toiletry bag or drawer and it is better to avoid very humid places, such as the bathroom.
